One-Year Anniversary of The Ipinions Journal!
Today marks the one-year anniversary of this journal. And, I thought it appropriate to celebrate the occasion by thanking all of the readers who have supported it over the past year. Therefore, my heart-felt thanks to the thousands of people around the world who my webmaster informs me are daily readers!
I launched this weblog after being persuaded that it would be a convenient way to share thoughts about current events amongst my close circle of friends. Indeed, I suspect many of you can relate to having such busy lives that you communicate primarily by emails and debate issues more often in blogs than in personal gatherings.
I was too ignorant about the passive but pervasive nature of the blogosphere, however, to appreciate its potential to disseminate my daily musings to every corner of the earth. And I’ve been humbled and honoured by the interest so many people outside my inner-circle have shown in my thoughts on events of the day.
But I'm especially grateful to all who have taken the time to not only read my columns but also write comments. And, as a small gesture of appreciation, I’ve decided to make it my second-year resolution to set aside time during my work-day to respond to your comments with far greater regularity than I did this past year (which, I’m embarrassed to confess, was only on 3 occasions…after prodding from friends).
So, here’s to what I hope will be another year of what one reader kindly described as “informative, provocative and often witty ipinions"; and, to your sustained interest in and comments about them.
Anthony

Congratulations Anthony!
I'm one of the thousands who consider your journal a must read everyday. I also agree with the reader who find your articles "informative, provocative and often witty."
Thank you.
great achievement anthony!
most bloggers give up after a couple months.
Well done sir... and since you will pay greater attention to the comment section, I wonder when you will get to the business of VP Cheney, his hunting accident and the delayed press release, etc....?
Rage.....
Happy anniversary to you Anthony. I hope that we can look forward to more of those hiliarious but informative topics which I think are so diverse in content most of us can connect on any given day.
Anthony,
What a year it has been!
Your Ipinions Journal has traversed the globe and brought not just information but insights into issues that many of us would have glossed over. Your depth of knowledge and analytical skills are just incredible.I too would like to echo the sentiments expressed about your articles being "informative, provocative and ...witty." I look forward with great anticipation to another year.
Thank you for sharing yourself with all of us.
Happy Birthday!
Lillian
Thank you Anthony for providing me with an enjoyable escape during the work day ...your blog is the BEST that I have come across IMO. Happy Anniversary!!
Hi Anthony
I don't know how many blogs Mary Ballard-Bernstein has read but I have read a lot of them and I agree with her high praise 100%.
It's so refreshing to read opinion about news items that is not just following liberal or conservative, or Democrat or Republican, spin.
So, Congratulations and Happy Anniversary Anthony. You're amazing. I don't know how you do every day what so many professional columnists struggle to do once a week. I'm sure very soon millions instead of thousands will be logging-on to your blog daily.
I concur Jennifer....he is extremely dedicated...who knows he may have his own show like the "Beltway Boys" ...Anthony is extremely cutting edge that is for sure...my knowledge is enhanced daily simply by reading his postings... and he even takes requests and opines on the subject matter that one requests at times!! I agree cream rises to the top and word of mouth and exposure will gain an even greater audience...Have some champagne tonight Anthony...you deserve ALL the accolades!
I happened upon this blog a few months ago through your column on caribbeannetnews.com, and I've been reading it almost daily ever since. I'm from the Caribbean and I'm presently studying in Asia. I like to keep up with current events, but don't have as much time as I would like to browse all the headlines of all the major news agencies, which is why your blog is the perfect alternative.
For an interesting spin on the story of the day I consult The Ipinions Journal. Although I disagree with some of your ipinions, I get the impression that they are simply your own, uncolored by allegiance to any person or group, and I really respect that. I have also found your writing style greatly appealing, and it is admirable that you can find time everyday to blog. (I started a blog and that was the end of it :D)
So cheers to you on your first anniversary. Don't want to be too much of an echo but it is the best blog I have read. Keep up the good work...I'll be reading you.
Thanks to all who posted notes of congratulations here or sent them by email.
Rage, I appreciate your prompting on the Cheney story. (And the same to the 17 readers - yes I counted them - who made similar enquiries by email.) But the reason I waited to write about it is because I thought any column would be incomplete without hearing from Cheney (and I fully expected him to meet the press in due course - as, indeed, he did today).
Therefore, expect my take on all of the points you mentioned (and a few more) tomorrow.
Thanks again to all readers. I am truly honoured by the time you take to read and comment on my articles.
