I suppose there is uncanny symmetry in claims by geeks in Silicon Valley that they started opening sentences with “so” in the 1990s. If so I wonder why it has taken 20 years for it become the adult version of “like”….
Whatever the case, I find this (belated) trend, like, so totally annoying. Don’t you? Especially since every reporter or commentator on TV these days seems programmed to begin almost every sentence with this it word.
