When did otherwise intelligent people begin using the word “so” in conversations the way Valley Girls use the word “like”?
I suppose there is uncanny symmetry in claims by geeks in Silicon Valley that they started opening sentences with “so” in the 1990s. If so I wonder why it has taken 20 years for it become the adult version of “like”….
Whatever the case, I find this (belated) trend, like, so totally annoying. Don’t you?
