Coldplay’s Hot Air About Not Touring to Combat Climate Change

Saturday, November 30, 2019 at 7:03 AM
Written by Anthony L. Hall

Coldplay will not go on a world tour to promote its latest album, citing environmental concerns. The British band said it won’t tour again until the shows can be done in a sustainable way. ‘We would be disappointed if it’s not carbon neutral,’ frontman Chris Martin told BBC News Thursday. (CBS News, November 22, 2019)… Read more.

Charities Firing Prince Andrew as Patron Compel Queen to Strip Him of Royal Duties

Sunday, November 24, 2019 at 6:37 PM
Written by Anthony L. Hall

The royal family let the world think that “Randy Andy” divorced Fergie to prevent her from bringing it into disrepute. Now comes this: The Queen summoned Prince Andrew to Buckingham Palace to strip him of his royal duties, it is claimed. Prince Andrew last night announced he was stepping back from public life in a move… Read more.

Republicans Knew From Day One That Supporting Trump Was Like Israelites Worshiping the Golden Calf…

Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 8:02 AM
Written by Anthony L. Hall

That’s why they wasted no time reveling in the apocalyptic-cum-hedonistic prelude to their rapture. More to the point, it was always wishful thinking to expect any Republican to vote to impeach their god … for anything. Therefore, I don’t get all the dismay over “moderate Republicans” defying logic, reason, and common sense to normalize Trump’s… Read more.

So ‘Mad Dog’ Russo Finds NFL’s Romo Irritating Too

Friday, November 22, 2019 at 6:53 AM
Written by Anthony L. Hall

I took a lot of flak for criticizing Tony Romo as follows in “Predicting NFL Plays Makes Romo More Smart Aleck than Nostradamus!” January 31, 2019: ____________________ Tony Romo displayed an uncanny knack this season for calling plays from the broadcast booth that teams then played out on the field. This has made him far… Read more.

Deep-Rooted Homophobia Explains Reluctance of Blacks to Embrace Democratic Presidential Candidate Pete Buttigieg

Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at 6:54 AM
Written by Anthony L. Hall

As it happens, I presaged this prejudice nearly 15 years ago in “Non-White Bishops Rebuke Their North American Brethren…” May 8, 2005. I was commenting on black bishops leading opposition to the ordination of gay bishops and priests in the Anglican Church. Here is an excerpt: ____________________ Gay Anglican Bishop Gene Robinson can be forgiven… Read more.

Trump Sneaks Out for Dr.’s Note to Resign Presidency…?

Monday, November 18, 2019 at 3:57 PM
Written by Anthony L. Hall

Trust me, for Trump, it’s better to fake a mysterious illness, which might evoke national sympathy, than to get impeached (or lose reelection), which would incite national ridicule. That’s why I think his oxymoronic mix of bluster and cowardice is behind this: President Donald Trump’s visit to Walter Reed on Saturday did not follow the… Read more.

Evidently Kaepernick Is Interested in Playing Politics, Not Football

Sunday, November 17, 2019 at 11:39 AM
Written by Anthony L. Hall

Many people have been cheering for Colin Kaepernick to get back into the NFL. This, because they thought he wanted nothing more than to play again but that team owners were blackballing him. But the stunt he pulled yesterday should disabuse everyone of that thought. Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s much-anticipated NFL workout… Read more.

Republicans’ Shifting-Sands Defense against Impeachment

Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 8:52 AM
Written by Anthony L. Hall

But the “schifftiest” of all defenses was their insistence that, President Trump thinks this impeachment inquiry is so inconsequential, he’s not even bothering to watch the congressional hearings. Never mind that this is even less credible than Nikki Haley, the former US ambassador to the United Nations, insisting this week that Trump has never lied… Read more.
