But it does not bode well that Covid-19 is dividing us as much as 9/11 united us.
More to the point, 9/11 had us mourning and commiserating over the loss of 3000. But Covid-19 has us trolling and fracturing despite losing 3000 every three days – such that we’ve already lost 193,000, and IHME modelers predict we’ll lose another 200,000 more by the end of this year.
Think whatever you will of George W. Bush as president, at least he rose to the occasion to serve not only as commander in chief but as consoler in chief too. By dismaying contrast, not only is Donald J. Trump failing to in either respect; he’s serving as troller and fracturing in chief.
God help America.
