NATO countries bombed Serbia in large measure because the Serbs were ethnically cleansing Muslims from “their” country. Therefore, the unconscionable and untenable irony cannot be lost on NATO leaders that they are now aiding and abetting Libyan rebels who are ethnically cleansing black Africans from their country.
Every day these rebels are betraying hints that they will be to Libya what Taliban fighters were to Afghanistan. Most notable is their oxymoronic pronouncement that Libya will be a democracy based on Sharia law. Which means that, just as it was with the Taliban, despite helping these rebels wrest control of their country from Gaddafi, NATO will probably be bombing the hell out of them in 10 years too.
