Fans boo Swift
Remarkably, the biggest story in the NFL this season has nothing to do with the game. Instead, it has everything to do with the budding relationship between pop star Taylor Swift and tight end Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs.
Every game Swift attends becomes more about her than the game. This holds even when fans have no reason to swoon over her. Unsurprisingly, it’s fostering resentment. And Swift got a taste of that when she attended the Chiefs-Patriot game in Boston on Sunday.
Taylor Swift was met with boos when she was shown on the Jumbotron at Gillette Stadium while she took in the Kansas City Chiefs game at the New England Patriots on Dec. 17. She managed to shake it off, though.
Yes, a chorus of boos rained down on the global pop icon, who was on hand to cheer on boyfriend Travis Kelce and the Chiefs as they took down the Patriots, 27-17.

Did the NFL fire Al Michaels over Swift?
The NFL has become as giddy about Swift attending its games as teenage girls are about attending her concerts. Al Michaels is its veteran announcer. But, unlike everyone else, he’s not giddy about her at all.
Indeed, he famously voiced misgivings about cameras focusing so much on Swift during games. Now, speculation abounds that this is why the NFL pulled him from this year’s playoff games.
Undeniably, Swift is a ratings golden goose. That’s why it’s too easy to believe the NFL silenced the game’s best announcer to keep cameras focused on her.
NBC has been far too cryptic about its reason for benching Michaels. But I suspect it has more to do with Amazon than Swift.
But Michaels is right. What’s more, I’m on record warning that it’s only a matter of time before Swift breaks up with Kelce, leaving the NFL in the lurch.
Mahomes is far too starstruck
Let me be clear; I am not referring to quarterback Patrick Mahomes. I’m referring to his wife, Brittany. You’d understand why if you’ve seen how she interacts with Swift during games (for the cameras).
Brittany acts as if they’ve been BFFs since grade school. In fact, they met only months ago, in late September when Swift began dating Kelce. But, apropos of resentment, imagine how all the other Chiefs WAGs must feel watching Brittany act around Swift as if they don’t exist.
That’s why, when Taylor breaks up with Travis, Brittany will be the most heartbroken of all. But Patrick really should tell his wife to curb her enthusiasm for her new BFF. Because she clings to Taylor more than Taylor does to Travis.
I refer you again to the previous commentary linked above. Because I also warned that Kelce’s Taylor seems bound to become the curse to the Chiefs that Romo’s Jessica became to the Cowboys.
Patrick has confessed. He feels pressured to throw to Kelce just to impress Taylor. With that kind of performance anxiety (for both), what could go wrong?
This affair with Taylor will not end well.
