Trump is unapologetically racist
The more Donald Trump humiliates White men like Ted Cruz and Lindsey Graham, the more loyalty they show him. This political phenomenon is as vexing as it is perplexing.
Yet, polls show that the more Trump hurls racist insults, the more appealing Blacks find him. Forget vexing and perplexing. That reeks of Orwellian doublespeak.
After all, Trump is arguably the most racist presidential candidate since the Civil War. His racist rap sheet includes
- discriminating against Black renters in lording over de facto Whites-only apartment buildings in Queens,
- leading a notorious media campaign to have the Central Park Five executed for a rape they did not commit,
- championing the Birther movement to disqualify Barack Obama from becoming the first Black president of the United States, and
- hailing menacing neo-Nazis as “very fine people.”
For any Black in their right mind, any one of those raps would be disqualifying. Yet, reports indicate that Trump thinks this racist record is why Blacks find him so appealing.
‘Blacks love me because I’m a criminal, too’
That is the absurd and insulting pitch Trump seemed convinced would appeal to Black voters. He made it at the Black Conservative Federation’s annual awards gala in DC last month.
Former president Donald Trump sought to appeal to Black voters on Friday night in South Carolina by repeatedly citing the 91 felony charges he faces and comparing them to unfair treatment from the criminal justice system toward minorities in America. …
He also cited his mug shot in Georgia — taken last summer after he was charged for trying to overturn the state’s election results — as a reason that Black voters would gravitate toward him in November. … He also said: “I’m being indicted for you, the Black population.”

Trust me, Trump couldn’t have insulted Blacks more if he tried. Unsurprisingly, Black leaders condemned him resoundingly.
Except that condemning Trump for hurling racist insults is like condemning Putin for killing political rivals. They are just doing what racists and autocrats do, respectively.
Instead, Black leaders should have focused their condemnation on the tuxedoed Blacks who cheered. After all, Trump was patting himself on the back for offering them nothing more than a chance to buy his gilded sneakers and T-shirts emblazoned with his mug shot.
Hell, this racist old fart is even plastering social media with AI-generated images featuring him hanging out with Black Millennials. And you can bet that’s the closest Trump has ever been or ever wants to get to a group of Blacks in a social, non-political setting.
Frankly, this political stunt shows how stupid Trump thinks Black people are. But you really have to be so stupid to believe these fakes that I won’t dignify them with any further comment.
Why do any Blacks support Trump?
Simply put, Trump continually shows contempt for Black voters like no politician has ever shown in US history. That’s why polls showing him increasing in popularity among Blacks make no sense.
Except, none other than Kanye West personifies this self-hating, self-abnegating phenomenon. But suffice it to know that the fatal attraction 1 percent of Blacks have for Trump mirrors that which 1 percent of Jews had for Hitler.
Of course, I hasten to note that these few Blacks are just hedging their bets to thrive if Trump is reelected. Whereas those few Jews were hedging their bets to survive what Hitler was executing, namely the Holocaust.
All the same, I have a more ominous take on the Black rappers, gangstas, and gansta rappers – who compose part of that 1 percent of Blacks supporting Trump. Like the White Evangelicals and White supremacists who form his base, they see Trump as the hellraiser to trigger an Armageddon of political, religious, and racial conflict.
That would be the end of the world as we know. But they’re convinced they’ll be feeling fine.
