Even with one of baseball’s highest payrolls, the Yankees once again proved that money can’t buy October glory. Sixteen years without a championship, Gerrit Cole’s $324 million still yielding nothing, and now the Blue Jays have joined the long list of teams exposing New York’s gilded mediocrity.
iPINIONS can probably do no better than quote the great Yankee, Yogi Berra: “It’s deja vu all over again.”
