Jason Arday quit Cambridge as allegations of plagiarism, résumé embellishment, and fabricated achievements overwhelmed his professorship. He deserves condemnation.
But iPINIONS contends that his downfall proves nothing about DEI or the legitimacy of Black academics. After all, elite universities were admitting and protecting compromised White professors long before Cambridge appointed its first Black professor.
