Rep. Bowman Confronts Rep. Massie Over Gun Violence in Congress

Republicans say guns make you safer Tha's why America is so safe right

Rep. Bowman confronts Rep. Massie over gun violence

Washington is buzzing over how Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-N.Y.) confronted Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) in Congress over gun control. Here is how The Washington Post is reporting on it today:

Standing in the hallway, Bowman accused Republicans of being ‘cowards’ and said voters should force them ‘to respond to the question’ of how to ‘save America’s children’ from shootings. ‘And let them explain that all the way up to Election Day in 2024,’ he said. …

Massie, who once tweeted a holiday photo of his family holding guns, then told Bowman, ‘You know, there’s never been a school shooting in a school that allows teachers to carry.’ ‘Carry guns? More guns lead to more death,’ Bowman replied.

It’s simple: more guns mean more death. So here’s to Democrats getting in Republican faces like this over other issues. Those issues should include voting rights, abortion rights, and children’s education.

Republicans are hell-bent on turning America into a dystopian paradise. Utopia, for them, would be a real-life version of the Republic of Gilead in The Handmaid’s Tale. That’s why they’re passing election-rigging laws in red states nationwide.

They think this will enable them to roll out the red carpet for Donald Trump to return as president. And they couldn’t care less that he’s a twice-impeached, coup-plotting, gilded-tower grifter.

This shouting match was between a Black Democrat and a White Republican. And that’s notable because that scene might go down in history as the Fort Sumter of Civil War II.

Whites triggered the Civil War to preserve their entitlement to enslave Blacks. They are triggering another to reclaim their entitlement to Jim Crow White privilege.

Like the Southern rebels, the Republicans started this civil war. Like the Northern unionists, the Democrats should end it.
