Ellison, Bezos, and Other Oligarchs Turning US Media into a MAGA Propaganda Empire

Monday, October 6, 2025 at 9:31 AM

oligarchs buying up media to help Trump

Trump’s billionaire backers (Ellison, Bezos, Musk, Zuckerberg, and Murdoch) are turning America’s news industry into a MAGA propaganda machine. They’re gutting journalism for profit and power, while pretending it’s free speech. iPINIONS sees this as a silent coup reshaping America’s media landscape. Rupert Murdoch’s Fake News about Retiring from Fox News

Friday, September 22, 2023 at 9:33 PM
Written by Anthony L. Hall
Cartoon of Murdochs retirement party where nobody shows up and inset people protesting Fox News fake news.

This week, the media were atwitter (or aXitter) after 92-year-old Rupert Murdoch announced he was stepping down as chairman of Fox Corporation and News Corp. “Succession” memes and puns abounded.  But The Economist stood out for pointing out that he “isn’t going anywhere.” Murdoch was merely engaging in the same dystopian double-speak his Fox News peddles. Indeed, his ‘gaslighting’ business model is so profitable that he’s not changing… Read more.

Fox News Fires Tucker Carlson. But It’s Not Coming to Jesus, Just Cutting Losses.

Rupert Murdoch firing Tucker Carlson is like a mob boss firing a consigliere

Fox News fired Tucker Carlson today and shocked the world. Except this is the same Fox News that fired Carlson’s predecessor Bill O’Reilly. Hell, Fox even fired its co-founder Roger Ailes. And, by Fox, I’m referring to Rupert Murdoch, the wizard of Trumpism. O’Reilly and Ailes’ firing offense was creating a hostile work environment –… Read more.

Fox News Settles Dominion Defamation Case for a Whopping 787.5 Million Dollars!

Fox News settles Dominion defamation case

On Tuesday, at the eleventh hour,  Fox News settled Dominion’s defamation lawsuit. The chickens are finally coming home to roost for Fox. In this case, the chickens are the lies it peddled about the 2020 presidential election. Fox did so to entertain rather than inform its viewers. And peddling lies was good for business. So Fox peddled them religiously. One of the… Read more.

Rupert Murdoch Admits Fox News Lied about the 2020 Presidential Election

Fox News lies exposed by Dominion lawsuit

Fox News propagated the big lie that Democrats rigged the 2020 Election. And it accused Dominion Voting Systems of flipping votes to help them do it. Dominion filed a $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit against Fox News. Its filings have disclosed incriminating text and email exchanges among Fox personnel. And they are proving to be the… Read more.

Murdoch Dumps Buffoonish Trump for More Cleverly Mendacious and Racist DeSantis

Written by Anthony L. Hall
cartoon of rupert murdoch holding cover of ny post with headling dump trump

Washington was all atwitter this week over the clearest signs yet that Rupert Murdoch, the Wizard of Trumpism, has decided to dump Donald Trump. Tabloid with long relationship with former president blasts him over Capitol attack, saying he is unworthy to be elected again. Rupert Murdoch, hitherto one of Donald Trump’s most loyal media messengers,… Read more.

NY Times Exposes Fox News Tucker Carlson as a Racist. Duh

New York Times publishes series exposing Tucker Carlson as a racist

The liberal intelligentsia are heaping Pulitzer praise on The New York Times for a series that exposes Fox News host Tucker Carlson as a racist. But count me out. Because this is rather like getting all atwitter over an investigative series that exposes Donald Trump as a liar. Duh. Here is how the eponymous “Intelligencer”… Read more.

Biden Calls Putin Murderous; Murdoch Dangerous…

Biden calls out Putin and Murdoch

US President Joe Biden offended all notions of diplomatic sense and sensibility last month when he called Russian President Vladimir Putin murderous and Fox News owner Rupert Murdoch dangerous. I found his candor – in calling a spade a spade on the world stage – refreshing and encouraging in equal measure. But perhaps it just… Read more.

Preston Padden Helped Launch Fox News. Now He’s Damning It … but Sparing Murdoch.

America is experiencing the spasms of an increasingly kinetic (second) civil war. So think whatever you will of Russian ransomware attacks and Chinese rhetorical bullying. The only things Americans have to fear are Americans themselves. And “the culture wars” now raging over things like Critical Race Theory and the National Anthem should be far from… Read more.

Treated Like Pariahs in America, Fox-News Murdochs Flee to Australia

Thursday, April 8, 2021 at 6:14 AM
Written by Anthony L. Hall

I occasionally have cause to wonder if my persuasiveness and clairvoyance are not greater than I realize. Case in point, Rupert Murdoch is a naturalized American. But I’ve argued for years that he seems more hell-bent on doing everything to destroy this country from the inside than Vladimir Putin is on doing so from the… Read more.
