On Tuesday, Rep. Al Green raised his black cane in defiance as Trump delivered his address to Congress. That image should’ve been iconic, instantly, too.
Mark my words: when The New York Times publishes its next Decade in Pictures, Green’s image will rank higher than Trump’s.
Finally, some of you might be unfamiliar with the term Putinization in the title. I coined it nearly two decades ago to describe Putin’s plan to remake Russia in his Stalinesque image. Everything that has unfolded since has only vindicated that term—if I do say so myself. I fear Putin is now helping Trump remake America in his Stalinesque image, too.
