MLK Day in MAGA’s Jim Crow 2.0 America

Monday, January 19, 2026 at 10:13 AM
Written by Anthony L. Hall
MLK Day 2026

On MLK Day, Donald Trump isn’t honoring MLK’s legacy; he’s dismantling it. From scrubbing MLK Day and Juneteenth from the National Park Service calendar, to whitewashing American history under an Orwellian “sanity” order, to weaponizing DEI bans as grievance-driven affirmative action for Whites, Project 2025 amounts to a full-scale rollback of civil rights. iPINIONS damns… Read more.

The Sweatshop Next Door: US Corporations Eye the Dominican Republic

Monday, June 9, 2025 at 9:36 AM
Written by Anthony L. Hall

CNN just reported that US companies are moving manufacturing to the Dominican Republic. But don’t be fooled by talk of reshoring. This isn’t patriotism — it’s proximity-enabled exploitation. And iPINIONS fears that Haitians, yet again, will pay the price. Read my take on Substack: The Sweatshop Next Door… Read more.

Karoline Leavitt, Trump’s MAGA Mockingbird, Puts Saddam’s Baghdad Bob to Shame

Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at 7:50 PM
Written by Anthony L. Hall
Karoline Leavitt downplays Musk–Navarro tariff feud at WH presser, flanked by reporter Alayna Treene and inset images.

Granted, Sean Spicer made it clear on Day One of Trump’s first term that you can’t believe a word his press secretaries say. After all, beyond displaying abject loyalty, the only real job requirement is a cult-like willingness to parrot the lies (big and small) Trump spews every time he opens his mouth. That said,… Read more.

Trump’s Deportation Policies: Cruel, Careless, and Now Blessed by the Supreme Court

Monday, April 7, 2025 at 8:52 PM
Written by Anthony L. Hall
Collage showing themes of unjust deportation: Kilmar Garcia, Makula Kintu, Duke basketball star Khaman Maluach, Donald Trump, Marco Rubio, and the phrase 'Uncertain Justice' symbolizing Supreme Court inaction.

Kilmar Abrego Garcia: ‘administrative error,’ and zero accountability The Trump administration’s deportation program has always been a cocktail of malice and mismanagement. But its treatment of Kilmar Abrego Garcia reeks of the collateral damage we expect only from autocracies like Russia. It deported him to El Salvador. Never mind that, like hundreds of other deportees,… Read more.

Cory Booker dethroning Strom Thurmond as Senate filibuster king

Booker showed MAGA Trump is more Thurmond than Eisenhower Senator Cory Booker made history this week, speaking on the Senate floor for 25 hours and 5 minutes. He was protesting the Trump administration’s cruel, corrupt, and unconstitutional policies. In doing so, Booker shattered Strom Thurmond’s infamous 1957 record of 24 hours and 18 minutes. Marco Rubio Serving as More Token Latino than Secretary of State

Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at 1:46 PM

Marco Rubio as secretary of state in Oval Office and in Saudi Arabia.

A secretary of state in name only I said from the start that Marco Rubio’s nomination as Secretary of State was about tokenism, not diplomacy. Trump proved me right by stacking his administration with White, DEI (“didn’t earn it”) special envoys, making Rubio irrelevant. Case in point: Richard Grenell, Trump’s envoy of special envoys, was… Read more.

Marco Rubio at State Dept. for first day with image of Trump and migrant caravan inset

Lil’ Marco not big enough for the job The Senate confirmed Marco Rubio as secretary of state on Monday by unanimous vote. This makes him the first Latino to serve as America’s top diplomat and the first cabinet secretary to be confirmed for Trump’s second term. Except that Rubio’s role appears more about optics than… Read more.
